#Review The Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Happy Release day to The Forbiddeb. I am so excited to bring you my review of The Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas, an adult contemporary romance. I love Jodi's books and was so excited to get my hands on a copy of this book, thanks to Orion publishing who provided me a e-arc in exchange for an honest review. YOU can get your hands on a copy today and I highly reccommend you do!

A new story of dangerous temptations from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the This Man trilogy.

Annie has never experienced the 'spark' with a guy-that instant chemistry that renders you weak in the knees. That is, until a night out brings her face to face with the dangerously sexy and mysterious Jack. It's not just a spark that ignites between them. It's an explosion. Jack promises to consume Annie, and he fully delivers on that promise.

Overwhelmed by the intensity of their one night together, Annie slips out of their hotel room. She is certain that a man who's had such a powerful impact on her must be dangerous. She has no idea that he belongs to another. That he's forbidden.

The Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas is a standalone adult contemporary romance that I really enjoyed giving it 4 stars. Jodi is my Queen and I will read anything by her even just a list of random words. Going into The Forbidden I was nervous with the title being called The Forbidden I wasn't sure what that Forbidden element was going to be and when I realised there was a note from the author at the start of the book I was further intrigued. Needless to say I loved it.

We have Annie a young woman who has just purchased her first house and is dedicated to her job as an architect and isn't interested in love, she has never felt the spark with anyone. But then while out with her friends she develops a spark straight away with Jack, our charming male lead of the story. After a night of passion, Annie never thinks she is going to see him again but their lives are about to change forever.

Time to bang your head against the wall as I try to explain my thoughts without spoiling it!

We need to talk about the forbidden issue in the book, of course am not going to tell you what it is as it would give it away but I thought the topic was executed well. Annie gets herself into a situation that she never ever thought she would be in and struggles internally with the consequences of her actions. She questions herself alot and I liked seeing her thoughts as the situation unfolds. I liked Jack as the lead male, he also has to think alot about the situation but in the background he has other things happening that he also needs to deal with, I know am being vague. I just really like how the situation was executed. There is also an other subject explored on Jack's part that I found interesting but again I can't really say, you know spoilers. I think later in the month am going to do a spoiler post so be on the look out for that!

Normal review that makes sense resumes!

So I liked Annie and Jack as leads. For Jodi fans I think Jack might be knocking Jesse from Jodi's the This Man trilogy of his top spot, as I really liked Jack so much. Jodi is also amazing at not just lead characters but side characters and in The Forbidden that was the same as all her other books. I loved Annie's set of friends and her mum and dad where so funny. Jodi's books always leave me wanting individual stories about all the characters and The Forbidden is know different!

I enjoy Jodi's writing style it is fast paced and I can really feel myself being there with the characters on their journeys and the plot is never straight forward which I like. If there isn't twist and turns, it wouldn't be a Jodi Ellen Malpas book.

Overall I really liked The Forbidden, I connected with the characters and really enjoyed the forbidden concept as it felt done in a great way. I highly recommend you check this book out and all Jodi's other books if you haven't already.

Will you read The Forbidden? Have you read any Jodi Ellen Malpas books?
