My Summer Bucket List TBR

We are in June already, where did the time go! It's summer which means I want to read more contemporaries. I tend to read a lot of contemporaries in the summer, and they don't even have to be fluffy reads, they can be contemporaries with a serious subject as well. Apart from all  the June Releases as well as my top 5 releases I am excited for this summer & giveaway (the giveaway to win one of your summer releases is still open) I have some books on my TBR that I really want to get to, its a short list but I don't like setting myself too much as I am not very good at keeping to goal. The books am going to talk about I own and want to try and get to this summer. So let's go! All books linked to goodreads!

I tried reading Fangirl a few months back and didn't finish it. I know it is everyone's fave but I just wasn't dealing very well with Rainbow's writing. Attachments her adult book sounds more up my street. It is the one I did want to start with but I ended up picking Fangirl to see what all the fuss was about and even though I was disappointed I will give it a try again in the future. But for now I really want to read Attachments.

This is one that has been on my TBR for so long. I have heard many great things about it and just think it will make a great summer read.

This is one I picked up last summer to read but didn't get around to it. It just sounds so fluffy and fun. This is a companion to Off the page so I might have to buy it and read it first. However I know it can be read as a standalone. Thoughts?

This isn't a contempoary its a PNR with angels but it's a series that I have wanted to read for so long and I just really need to pick it up this summer.

What books are on you summer bucket list?

June Releases I am looking forward to

*Who Runs The World? by Virginia Bergin (Releases June 1st VIA Macmillan Books)

This book makes me want to sing the Beyonce song Who Runs The World, girls every time I read the title. This is a YA dystopia where a virus has wiped out all the men on the planet. I will leave you with that. If that hasn't got you intrigued I don't know what will.

*Follow Me Back (Follow Me Back #1) by A.V. Geiger (Releases June 6th VIA Source Books)

This is a YA Contemporary mystery that sounds really intriguing. It is about a girl who has agoraphobia and she is a massive fan of a pop star and her only escape is an online fandom. The popstar that the protagonist is a fan of is frightened for his life as a fellow popstar was recently murdered at the hands of a fan. He feels that he needs to wreck his image for his own safety and decicdes to do that he is going to troll one of his top twitter followers which happens to be the female lead Tessa. They decide to meet things turn deadly and the story takes a turn for the deadly. The book is told in tweets, direct messages and police transcripts. I need this book!

*Words in deep blue by Cath Crowley (Releases June 6th VIA Knopf Book For Young Readers & July 13th by Hodder in the UK)

Words in deep blue was released last year in Australia. It is being released in the US in June and the UK in July. Being in the UK this probably should have been in my July releases but am going to leave it here. It's a YA contemporary romance. It has young love, second chances, a book store, love letters and it just sounds very sweet and I think it will make a great summer read.

*Internet Famous by Danika Stone (Releases June 6th VIA Swoon Reads)

This is another YA contemporary romance. It's involves a blog, a romance and trolls. And the cover is just beautiful.

*Royal Treatment (Scandal #3) by Parker Swift (Releases June 11th VIA Forever Yours)

Yes I don't stop going on about this series. I love it so much! Royal Affair the first book in the series was my second favorite read so far of 2017 (You can check out the rest here) This is the conclusion to the trilogy and I am so excited to read it!!!!

*Bad Romance by Heather Demetrios (Releases June 13th VIA Henry & Holt CO.)

This is a YA contemporary romance that has one of the most beautiful covers .This book sounds like it is going to deal with a the topic of abuse both from parents and in relationships and it sounds really interesting. It's one of those book where you need hop over to goodreads and judge your thoughts on it.

*If Birds Fly Back by Carlie Sorosiak (Releases June 27th VIA Harper Teen (US)- June 29th VIA Macmillian (UK)

If Birds Fly Back is a YA contemporary that I am just going to quote from the synopsis..

"A sparkling debut about love, family, and the mysteries of the universe.... With humor and heart, debut author Carlie Sorosiak weaves a story of finding people who leave and loving those who stay, perfect for fans of Jandy Nelson and Emery Lord."

*Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland (Releases June 29th VIA Zaffre Publishing)

This is Louise AKA Sprinkle Of Glitters debut fiction novel. It's an adult contemporary which follows single mum Robin Wilde.

Finally a book I want to mention is a novella being released by my auto buy queen Jodi Ellen Malpas called All I am releasing June 18th. It is a novella about a character called Drew from her bestselling trilogy This Man and I am so excited for it. This Man is my fave trilogy from her and I am excited to read more about one of Jesse's best friends Drew. You can check out all Jodi's books here

#Review Inferno (Blood for Blood #2) by Catherine Doyle

Book: Inferno
Series: Blood for Blood #2
Author: Catherine Doyle
Rating: ✪✪✪✪✪

Image result for inferno catherine doyle goodreads

I don't know why I put of finishing this trilogy. I read Vendetta a few years back and loved it and just never picked up the next #books. Well aren't I hitting myself on the head now. I loved this sequel and just had to run out and pick up the last book straight away. Fun fact: This is my first 5 star rating since last October!

I have so many thoughts on Inferno. I would definitely class this as Upper YA as Catherine Doyle does not shy away from dark themes.
I haven't had a book shock me so much in such a long time and I loved it. Catherine Doyle is not one to shy away from getting things done and she does more than get things done in Inferno.

The story was such a fast paced page turner. And it just keep flowing with action the whole way though. However even though I wanted to keep reading I had to have a little break in between as things got so intense.

Nic one of the Falcone brothers I loved in the first book but in Inferno he really rattled me to the point I wanted to grab his knife and poke him in the eye. He's like a robot, a solider. I kinda get his personality now, its the way he was born, its in his blood. But come on Nic snap out of it.

I adore Luca so much and I really enjoy his chemistry with Sophie. Luca is just my little bundle of hope. Sophie went though so much in this book, like, I don't know how that girl is still standing.

As I said above there was alot of OMFG moments you can't trust anyone in this book, like I would be having a nervous break down rocking in a corner if i had to go though what Sophie goes though in Inferno and it's going to leave the characters changed forever.

Even though I loved the whole romance in Vendetta and the Romeo and Juliet aspect in Inferno it was the plot and the twists and turns that kept me tuning the pages and reading late into the night. This is a trilogy I highly recommend you check out.

Have you read Inferno? Are the first book in the trilogy? Leave me your thoughts below.

Top 5 summer book releases am excited for & #Giveaway

Summer is just around the corner and I am so excited for awesome releases but there is five in particular I am really excited for. Today I am going to be sharing my top 5 releases this summer and you can be in with a chance of winning one of your top releases this summer. Lets go! All Books linked to Goodreads.

I know I haven't shut up about this series. I love it so so much. The first book Royal Affair was my second favorite read of 2017 so far (You can check out my top 5 2017 reads so far here ) It's an adult contemporary romance and I love it. You need to check out my review of the first book here I can't wait to read the conclusion to this trilogy. I actually have a copy for review so I am very excited to read it ASAP!

2) Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland (Releases June 29th)

This is Youtuber Louise Pentland's AKA Sprinkle Of Glitter's debut fiction novel and am really looking forward to it. I love Louise's videos and I can't wait to see what her book is like. I was getting a little fed up with "youtuber books" but I really like the sound of Wilde Like Me. Its an adult contemporary all about single mum Robin Wilde.

3) Red by Tiffany Reisz (Releases July 11th)

I am so excited for Red. Last year I read all of Tiffany's books in The Original Sinners: The Red Years and The Original Sinners: The White Years. They are erotica romance books that are definitely controversial reads but I really enjoyed them. In the original sinners series the main character Nora is an author and Red is the book she was writing in the series. I actually have a copy for review and I am so, so excited to get to it.

This just sounds like the perfect summer read. It is a YA contemporary though the protagonist is 19 years old. It has travel, romance, friendship and adventure I am definitely up for that.

5) The Forbidden by Jodi Ellen Malpas (Releases 8th August)

I love Jodi's book's she is my auto buy Queen. Forbidden is her next release and I know I am going to have another book boyfriend in Jack. Jodi writes amazing romance, hot alpha men and stories with so many twists and turns you don't see it coming!

Top Ten Books I want to buy next

I want to buy so many books but there is certain books that are at the top of my to buy list. There is of course new books releasing over the next few months that I want to buy so bad but I will have a post later this week on my top 5 summer releases with a giveaway! So without further ado here is the top 10 books I want to buy next. All books linked to Goodreads

This is the third and final book in the Blood for Blood trilogy by Catherine Doyle. This is a YA contemporary which is Romeo and Juliet meets the Sopranos. I read the first book a few years back called Vendetta. (You can check out my review here) I just finished the second book, Inferno and it was fantastic. I can't wait to finish this trilogy.

I read the first two books of this series this year and I want to continue the series throughout the summer. It's a series I put of for years as I usually struggle with Fey and fantasy but I really ended up having fun with this series. You can check out my review of the first book in the series The Iron King here

This is a book I read and loved a few years back after receiving an ARC but for some reason I haven't brought a finished copy. Why you ask? I haven't a clue. I really need to fix this and buy a finished copy ASAP. You can check out my review of All The Bright Places here

This is one that was on my 2017 releases I really what to read but haven't yet post, which you can see here. I really want to read this book so bad. Its a YA contemporary about a girl who gets locked in a library for the weekend with a guy who she has heard is trouble. What's not to love? I think this will make a great summer read so I need to buy it ASAP.

This is one I am really excited to get. It actually isn't out is the UK yet till July but it is out in the US. I don't really like the UK cover to I am tempted to get the US cover from Book Depository. Its a YA that has a spin on You've Got Mail which sounds so good.

The Undertow trilogy is one I want to finish this year. I read the first book a few years back and loved it (you can check out my review here) I have the last book for review so I need to buy the second book ASAP. The final book released a few months back so you can read the whole trilogy now which I highly recommend.

This was the book that I picked that I wanted to buy next when I did the Goodreads Tag and it is at the top of my list. I have seen this book everywhere. Its a 2015 release its a YA contemporary which is being made into a movie and it just sounds amazing.

This is one I mentioned in my post about books that have been calling to me which you can check out here Its a new release, its a Cinderella retelling and I am so excited to read it.

I have wanted to read this for years but just haven't got around to it. I really want to get to it this year, so I need to pick up a copy ASAP.

This series is hunting me. I have a e copy of it, I have a signed copy of the second book and I still haven't read it. So why is it on my to buy next list. I want a paperback of it as I don't want to read the e copy which is such a stupid reason. I just need to read this book. Please hound me to read it.

What book (s) is on your to buy next list?

Top 6 books of 2017 so far

We are nearly hitting June which means we are six months into the year already and I think its flying in. So far this year my reading has been slow due to the major slump of March and April that must not be mentioned. My aim this year was 100 books and at the time of this post am only in the mid twenties, I need to speed read if am going to gain any traction on my goal.

So without further ado here is my top 6 books of 2017 I have read so far
(Note not all the books are not new releases)

Note: I had this post all prepped to go early May as I scheduled so many posts then however I read my first 5 star book in seven months a few days before publishing this post so I had to re do this post just before I published it to add the book to the list. So now its my top 6 inside of 5!

In at number six is The Iron King by Julie Kawaga (linked to my review) YA

This is a series I have had on my TBR for so long. After reading so many new adult/adult romances at the start of the year I wanted a bit of fantasy in my life. And The Iron King stuck out. I was really surprised that I enjoyed it. Its an YA urban fantasy but more toward the fantasy genre and me and fantasy don't gel and especially when the creatures are Fey but I really did have fun reading this and I also picked up the second book The Iron Daughter as well. The Iron King got 3 stars.

In at number 5 is The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas (Adult)

Last year I read Jodi's This Man and All Night Trilogy's and adored them. Jodi fast became an auto buy author and last year released The Protector. However at the time I tried to read it but for some reason didn't finish it. However as I was coming out of my book slump I decided to pick it up again and I ended up finishing it and loving it. I really don't know why I didn't finish it before but am so glad I have now. Jodi's books are always guaranteed to have twists and turns and this book certainly didn't let me down. Check out my review above for more thoughts. The Protector got 4 stars.

In at 4 is Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella (Linked to my review) (YA)

This was the second book I picked up this year and I really enjoyed it. Finding Audrey got 4-4.5 stars. Here's a quote from my review:

"Overall I really enjoyed Finding Audrey, it was fast paced, with great writing, a character I really adored and connected with and a important story told in the right way. Fans of Under Rose Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall and Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon would enjoy Finding Audrey."

In at number three is The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood (Link to my review) (Adult) 2017 release

I loved this book so so much. It had a great romance, a good storyline and it make me LOL so much. It was the perfect rom com to cosy up and read during winter. I highly recommend you check this book and check out my review for more of my thoughts. The Rule Maker got 4.5 stars.

In at number two is Royal Affair (Books 1) by Parker Swift (Link to my review) (Adult) 2017 release

I loved, loved this book so much!!! It contributed to my book slump because I needed the next book straight away. As soon as I finished the book I had to email the publicist and say how much I loved this book. If my face was an emoji it would have been heart eyes. You need to check out my review for more of my thoughts its a least a little more coherent. Royal Affair got 4.5 stars.

This book just crept into my reading life and I don't know how it happened. I read the first book, Vendetta, a few years back and loved it and decided to finish up the trilogy and boy am I glad I did. I loved Inferno so much. Its romeo and Juliet meets the sopranos and I highly recommended you check it out. I gave Inferno 5 stars and its my first 5 star rating in seven months.

What has been some of your fave reads so far this year? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Review: Inferno by Catherine Doyle

Help needed

Image result for suicide squad

So on Friday I finally watched Suicide Squad and really enjoyed it. At first I wasn't too sure of it but by the end I loved it. Now I really want to read some of the comics and I don't know where to start. I have never read any comics or graphic novels so I am totally clueless. I am interested in the Suicide Squad comics but am also interested in stuff on Deadshot and Harley Quinn. So any help pointing me in the right direction of where to start would be great.

How has your week been? Let me know in the comments below!
